Scorpio Season Is Time to Get a Little Selfish. What to Expect Based on Your Sign

Date:

My style is a genuine expression of my personality, but it’s also my stage wardrobe for my role as a person in the world. With great respect to almost everyone I’ve ever met in my entire life: You’re lovely and I like you, we can get along fabulously, but I just don’t know you well enough to let you see me in a plain black dress. That’s for my partner, my pets, and the neighbors who spot me lurking around my area like a cryptid on nighttime walks.

Because I dress as though I have been viciously attacked by a Crayola box with a fondness for floral prints, people are also sometimes surprised to discover that I, a Scorpio, love doom metal. That shock always astonishes me in turn: I’m not sure how they imagine I’d possibly be smiling if I weren’t imbibing a constant stream of fuzzy downtuned monster riffs through my headphones. Lyrics about hopeless finality make me feel conversely euphoric about the beauty of the ephemeral.

Last spring, a Libra I had recently met asked for my sign.

“Scorpio,” I said.

“Ew!” she exclaimed.

I laughed out loud. She walked the statement back a bit (Libras, am I right?), but she needn’t have. If I start thinking about that incident too hard in hindsight, I become offended on behalf of my fellow Scorpios, but in the moment I found her utterance of disgust enormously endearing. Please, spare us all the agony of inauthenticity.

Scorpios? EW! Enough forbidden knowledge about us; it’s time to talk about the rest of you goobers! Scroll down below to find out your fate this Scorpio Season. If you know more of your placements than your Sun Sign alone (Moon, Rising, Venus, etc.), check their entries as well to get a full picture of your astrological forecast.

What the stars are up to:

  • The Sun is in your sign. The Sun creates trines with Saturn and Neptune and opposes Uranus.
  • Mercury begins the season in your sign, where it opposes Uranus, creates trines with Neptune and Mars, and forms a sextile with Pluto. Then, Mercury leaves your sign and moves to Sagittarius.
  • The New Moon in your sign passes through conjunction with the Sun; creates trines with Saturn, Neptune, and Mars; opposes Uranus; and forms a sextile with Pluto.
  • Your sign ruler Pluto begins the season in Capricorn. Near the end of the season, Pluto leaves Capricorn and moves to Aquarius.

What it means:

This season we’re working hard, but we’re not getting weird — not at the start, anyway. In conversation, self-examination, and emotion, Scorp is organized, motivated, and attuned to our intuition as we work to prepare for a major change. We know what we need to do, and now’s the time to buckle down and do it.
