LAS VEGAS (KLAS) – A search is underway in Henderson after a 17-year-old girl disappeared shortly before the start of 2025.
Her trail was picked up in a desert area at the edge of Henderson at the south end of Horizon Ridge Parkway.
Family members said 17-year-old Jennaleah Hin walked out of her home after an argument with her parents Monday night. She didn’t bring her phone or any money and hasn’t been seen since.
She’s now reported missing and Red Rock Search and Rescue is leading on the job. One of their dogs picked up her scent Thursday — leading into the desert.
From horseback riders to helicopters, Red Rock Search and Rescue is using every available resource to find Hin. Red Rock Search and Rescue Commander Mark Speer told 8 News Now that each day of searching is more critical than the last.
“The survivability with no water and no food out here diminishes drastically after 72 hours. And we’re at the fourth day right now,” Speer said
He also added that Hin is a straight “A” student, and she’s never been in trouble with the law. Her parents through tears, said their home is broken without her.
“I just want you to come home. I want you safe. We love you so much,” Jennifer Hin, Jennaleah’s mother, said.
Henderson police are interviewing those close to Hin trying every place she could be.
“The friends have been interviewed. They’ve been called, the phones have been looked at. All sorts of social media has been looked at. All the friends have been cooperative, including the boyfriend,” Speer said.
