Cambria residents Chris and Sharon Eidler “woke to a bloody scene” in their backyard Wednesday morning.
A mountain lion had came through their yard with its bloodied prey in its mouth over night, the couple posted on neighborhood social media platform Nextdoor.
Their security cameras captured a picture of the mountain lion in the yard at 3:41 a.m. with what looked like a cat or a raccoon in its mouth, according to the post.
“Please keep your pets safe,” the Eidlers’ post said.

This is the second mountain lion sighting in San Luis Obispo County this week.
At 1 p.m. on Tuesday, a mountain lion sighting was reported to the Paso Robles Police Department in the area of Traditions Loop and North River Road, according to a Facebook post by the police.
Paso Robles officers were circulating the area on Tuesday afternoon.
