Son Of Inter Milan Icon Jumps To Manager’s Defense: “Those Who Criticize Simone Inzaghi Deserve Walter Mazzarri

Gianfelice Facchetti defends Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi while ridiculing former Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri.

Inzaghi has been at the helm since replacing Antonio Conte in the summer of 2021. While his first two campaigns at the club had their highs and lows, he led the Nerazzurri to the second-star achievement last season, while leaving all rivals in the dust.

Therefore, Facchetti insists deserves respect for what he accomplished at the club thus far, while using Mazzarri’s rigid tactics to pass his point.

“Inzaghi is the coach who is leading the most successful team in Italy in recent years,” said Gianfelice in his interview with Calciomercato.it via FcInterNews.

“He achieved the objectives when it seemed that the team could not aspire to anything. It takes courage to criticize Inzaghi, courage that I do not have.

“You have to refresh your memory, especially when the complaints arrive after the 4-4 draw with Juve.

“Maybe we deserve Mazzarri, if we protest against a team that draws in a match that was turning into something epic. You have to be fair to Inter and its history.”

Facchetti also insisted that Inter must adopt a rotation policy to compete on all fronts.

“A team like Inter cannot define an objective too far in advance. Even if many say that Inter are aiming for the Champions League, we know that it is a competition of nuances. The Scudetto must not be neglected, so a wide rotation is required. In the past, they criticized Inzaghi for it.”

“However,  against Arsenal, we won with five or six changes. The objective is to be able to stay in the race as long as possible until the key moment arrives,”

Facchetti also explains why Yann Bisseck has become a personal favorite of his.

“The last shirt I bought was Sommer’s. It seems right to me as a former goalkeeper.

“But If I have to choose an outfield player, I would say Bisseck because last season, he quickly integrated thanks to his strong personality.”
