South Western High School senior crowned Miss Hanover Area 2024

Date:

13 seniors from two local high schools took to the stage and competed for the title of Miss Hanover Area 2024, but it was South Western’s Jordyn Farley who brought home the crown Sunday night at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center. Jordyn follows in the footsteps of her older sister, Maddy Farley, who was crowned the 50th Miss Hanover in 2018.

The panel of five judges, which included Hanover Mayor SueAnn Whitman, awarded the title of first runner-up to Spring Grove’s Addison Myers, second runner-up to South Western’s Tatum Duckworth and third runner-up to Spring Grove’s Hayley Harris.

Local artist Brendan Starr sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the start of the program, while 11-year-old Brody Rummel belted out two tunes, including a cover of Whitney Houston’s “One Moment In Time,” in the second half of the night. Outgoing Miss Hanover Kendall DeShong performed two dances and assisted with the on-stage interview questions and awards. Over $4,000 was awarded in scholarships and cash to eight different contestants by the end of the night.

South Western's Jordyn Farley is crowned the 56th Miss Hanover Area at the Eichelberger Performing Arts Center on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, in Hanover.
