Steelers get on the board, trail 13-7 in second quarter

Date:

The Steelers needed four possessions to get their first points of the game, but they are now back within a score of the Chiefs.

Russell Wilson ran for a one-yard score with 10:28 left in the first half and the Steelers now trail 13-7 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. It was a bit of redemption for Wilson as he gave away a previous scoring chance by throwing an interception to Chiefs safety Justin Reid in the end zone on the previous Steelers possession.

Wilson completed four passes for 45 yards during the drive, including a pair of passes to tight end Pat Freiermuth for 30 yards, and Jaylen Warren continued a strong first half. He now has six carries for 50 yards on the afternoon.

The Steelers got their first stop when T.J. Watt batted down a Patrick Mahomes pass on third down and they’ll need more of that to wipe out the rest of the Kansas City lead.
