AUSTRALIA/INDIA. Cricket fans in the travel retail community have the chance to win a great prize in our latest Strange Predictions* contest hosted by Strange Nature Gin of New Zealand.
As with all our Strange Predictions competitions, the winner receives a bottle of the outstanding Strange Nature Gin, whose spirit base is drawn from Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Strange indeed.
For our new competition, we are asking readers to make a series of predictions related to the third test between two cricketing titans, India and Australia, which begins on Saturday 14 December in Brisbane.
India won the first test easily by 295 runs but Australia bounced back with a vengeance to thump their rivals by ten wickets in the following encounter.
Here are the pitch-perfect predictions required:
- Who will win the test match?
- Who will top score for each team in the first innings? (Tie-breaker: And with how many runs?)
- Which bowler will get the most wickets for each team in the first innings? (Tie-breaker: And in both case how many?)
Rules:

- Entries will first be assessed on correctly answering question 1. From that cull the winner will be whoever fares best across questions 2 and 3 (with the tie-breakers used only if there is more than one winner).
- If the match is drawn (Brisbane weather looks dodgy for days three to five), the winner will be chosen based on answers to questions 2 and 3.
- Only entries from bona-fide members of the travel retail and aviation community will be accepted.
- Umpire’s decision is final. No DRS alllowed.
