Akron High School Athlete of the Week

Two athletes from Hudson High School won the voting for the Summit County High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 23-29.

Emmy Burling is the girls winner and Ian Katz wins for the boys. Burling plays golf and Katz plays soccer. Burling received 59.85% of the votes cast. Katz received 70.43% of the votes cast.

A total of 881 votes were cast overall.

Emmy Burling, Hudson golf

Placed second in Suburban League National Conference tournament with a 70 at Brookledge Golf Course.

Ian Katz, Hudson soccer

Scored the only goal in 1-0 win over Division II state runner-up Revere, and scored two goals in an 8-0 win over Nordonia. Leads team with 14 goals.
