Akron High School Athlete of the Week

Athletes from Nordonia and Walsh Jesuit high schools won the voting for the Summit County High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 30-Oct. 6.

Julia Gulla is the girls winner and Keller Moten wins for the boys. Gulla plays golf for the Knights and Moten plays football for the Warriors. Gulla received 56.91% of the votes cast. Moten received 40.98% of the votes cast.

A total of 9,234 votes were cast overall.

Shot 70 at Fox Den to finish second at the sectional tournament.

Keller Moten, Walsh Jesuit football

Completed 10 of 19 passes for 162 yards and ran for 141 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries to lead the Warriors to a 19-14 win over rival Archbishop Hoban.
