Sunderland to sign Enzo Le Fée on loan with €23m permanent option

Sunderland and AS Roma have reached an agreement for the transfer of French midfielder Enzo Le Fée (24) to Tyneside, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. The Black Cats have pounced to sign the former Rennes midfielder after talks broke down with La Liga side Real Betis. Since joining from Rennes over a €23m move, Le Fée was playing a mostly peripheral role under the three different Roma managers this season – Daniele De Rossi, Ivan Juric and Claudio Ranieri. He featured ten times with the Giallorossi.

Sunderland head coach Régis Le Bris – who mentored Le Fée during their time together at Lorient – is set to reunite with the talented French midfielder as Di Marzio reports that Le Fée will fly to the UK to secure his move to the Stadium of Light. The Italian reporter understands that Roma and Sunderland struck an agreement over a loan deal with a €23m permanent option which would be triggered should Sunderland return to the Premier League.
