LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A 19-year-old who killed a man inside a Las Vegas Strip hotel room will serve at least a decade in prison after pleading guilty, documents said.
In July, Emma Kusak pleaded guilty to second-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon in the death of Charlie Satrustegui. Las Vegas Metro police found Satrustegui deceased inside a room at the Luxor Hotel & Casino in June 2023.
Kusak was 17 at the time of her arrest. Police said she shot Satrustegui in the head and then stole his keys, wallet and phones.
As part of a plea agreement, Judge Jacqueline Bluth sentenced Kusak to 11 to 27-and-a-half years in prison, records said. Kusak will be eligible for parole in 2033 with credit for time served.
Kusak must also pay more than $15,000 in restitution to the victim’s family.
