Tendulkar, Dravid should tell BCCI to keep politics away from cricket: Moin Khan

Date:

India have not toured Pakistan since 2013 and are yet to confirm their participation in the Champions Trophy in Pakistan next year

India have not toured Pakistan since 2013. In fact, the Asia Cup last year was held in a hybrid model, with India playing all their matches in Sri Lanka, while the other sides, played in Pakistan. However, former Pakistan skipper Moin Khan believes that greats like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and others should urge BCCI to keep politics away from cricket and convince them to send their team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, scheduled to be held in February-March 2025.

While India have not toured Pakistan for over a decade, the Babar Azam-led side

“Former India cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev, Rahul Dravid, etc., should tell their cricket board to keep politics away from cricket. Cricket should not be obstructed by political issues. The fans would love to see India and Pakistan play. It will not only benefit Pakistan, but overall cricket will be benefited,” Moin told Cricket Pakistan.

“India ought to honour their commitments with the ICC. And if they do not come, then Pakistan should reconsider their decision to participate in any future events slated to be held in India.”

The PCB is believed to have submitted a draft proposal to the ICC, keeping in mind the India matches. As things stand, India are scheduled to play all their matches in Lahore. The much-anticipated India-Pakistan clash is expected to take place on March 1.
