Oct. 1—The Greensburg tennis team celebrated Senior Night with a sweep of Milan in a weather-shortened match. The final team score was 4-0 with the No 2 doubles match stopped in the second set due to rain.
Greensburg lost only three games in the match. In singles, Greensburg’s Dan Fisse won 6-1, 6-0. Mason McNulty won 6-0, 6-0 and Jacob Duerstock won 6-1, 6-0.
At No. 1 doubles, Greensburg’s Jack McKinsey and Reece Beaver cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 victory. The No. 2 doubles match featuring Reece Chapman and Wade Schutte was cut short due to rain. Greensburg’s duo was leading 6-1, 4-4 went the rain halted the action.
Greensburg returns to action at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at Columbus North in sectional action against the host No. 5 Bull Dogs.
Batesville
Batesville hosted the Trinity Lutheran Cougars Monday and came away with a 3-2 win. The Bulldogs move to 10-10 to wrap up the tennis regular season.
At No. 1 singles, Batesville’s Caleb Mohr defeated by Jack Stuckwisch 6-2, 7-5.
Batesville’s Jevan Smith won the No. 2 singles match over Luke Shepman 6-1, 6-1.
At No. 3 singles, Batesville’s Carson Meyer shut out Ross Bevers 6-0, 6-0.
Batesville’s No. 1 doubles team of Lincoln Garrett and Deev Ranka fell to Jonathon Naewedde and Nathan Fink 6-3, 6-2.
At No. 2 doubles, Batesville’s Owen Westerfeld and Wes Peters defeated Brody Brown and Reed Roeder 6-2, 7-6 (9-7).
Batesville will play the winner of Lawrenceburg and South Dearborn at 6 p.m. Thursday in the East Central Sectional.
