COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M men’s basketball is seeking its third win of the season Friday against a talented Ohio State team. The Buckeyes are seeking to take down an SEC team from Texas for the second time this year.
A&M’s most recent win over Lamar was led by Zhuric Phelps who had 16 points and forward Andersson Garcia who had 15 points. Phelps shot 66.7% from the field. Garcia shot 71.4% and was perfect from 3-point range.
The Buckeyes’ victory against in-state foe Youngstown follows a win over Texas men’s basketball 80-72.
Friday night’s game will be the first ranked-versus-ranked nonconference matchup at Reed Arena venue since the No. 5 Aggies beat No. 14 Iowa Hawkeyes 72-62 in the Big 12-SEC Challenge in 2016.
