The Louisville basketball program is hosting a five-star prospect

Date:

The Louisville basketball program is in the midst of a rebuild. They are trying to figure out what is next in the step of making themselves contenders on a national scale once again. The last couple of years have been really hard for the program, and now Pat Kelsey is trying to change that.

Kelsey has an entirely new roster with his team this year. He knows he has his work cut out for him. The best way for him to get this team back into contending for championships is to recruit elite players. They will be hosting one of those recruits today.

Mikel Brown Jr. is a five-star recruit, and he is the one who is visiting Louisville today. He’s a 6’3 point guard from the state of Florida and is rated as the second-best point guard in the country. He is a member of the 2025 recruiting class. That would be a great addition to the Cardinals’ roster.

Brown Jr. has several schools that he is still considering. Kentucky, IU, Alabama, UCF, and Ole Miss are some of the other schools that he is thinking about. As of right now, he is projected to pick the Rebels. Things can certainly change in the current landscape of college basketball though.

NIL is certainly a factor in today’s college basketball. Louisville’s basketball program has a great tool with the NIL that they have access to. In fact, it’s one of the best NIL programs in the country. That’s a powerful tool when you’re trying to land a big-time recruit.

Brown Jr. has several other visits he’s still going on, so the Cardinals really need to impress him. We’ll see what is important to him and if he’s ready to jump on the Louisville Cardinals train. He still has a lot of time to figure out what he’s going to do.
