The Rangers Have Recreated The Beloved ‘Kid Line’

Date:

The New York Rangers have a new kid line.

A couple years back, the Rangers put Alexis Lafrenière, Filip Chytil and Kaapo Kakko on a line together that ended up being named The Kid Line’.

Now, Chytil, Will Cuylle and Brett Berard make up the new kid line.

Between their speed, physicality and overall passion that they play with, this new kid line is a force to be reckoned with.

Chytil and Cuylle have played together for quite a while, but Berard adds a different element to the line.

“I think Berard is a little bit of a different player than Kakko,” Peter Laviolette said. “The line has been good. It had its best game last game I think. They just generated an awful lot of chances. Berard seems to be in the mix offensively. His hands seem to be in it.

“They could be good. It’s definitely not the same player, it’s a different player, a younger player. He brings speed, he brings enthusiasm, he brings a tenacity on the ice… That line was good.”

Chytil and Cuylle are emerging as arguably the team’s most impactful forwards outside of Artemi Panarin and Berard has shown a tremendous amount of promise since getting called up by the Rangers this season.

They’ve already been so effective as a line so far and have the potential to be dangerous if Laviolette chooses to keep them intact.
