While the current focus is on the 2025 recruiting class, Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball staff are making sure they focus a bit on the 2026 class as well.
On Wednesday, North Carolina extended a scholarship offer to four-star guard Cameron Holmes. The Goodyear, Arizona native is currently ranked as a four-star prospect by 247Sports Composite and comes in at No. 16 overall in the Class of 2026.
If you follow college basketball, you’ve probably heard of Cameron Holmes’ brother. His brother is DaRon Holmes, the former All-American at Dayton who was selected with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Holmes becomes the sixth player from the Class of 2026 to earn an offer from the UNC basketball program, as there’s plenty to love about his game. Listed at 6-foot-5, Holmes is a guy who could be utilized as a bigger guard or along the wing, as his athleticism and playmaking ability make him an impact player regardless of where he lines up.
Kansas was the first program to extend an offer his way (back in 2021 before he even reached high school!) as programs such as Arizona State, Dayton, Oregon, Arizona and UCLA have all followed. Now, add the Tar Heels as his second Blue Blood offer, as more should be on the way given how his recruitment continues to rise.
