Theo and Leao won’t be fined by Milan after cooling break snub – report
They remained on the opposite side of the pitch while Paulo Fonseca addressed the rest of the team on the touchline.
Both stars had started on the bench at the Olimpico and were introduced in the second half, so fans and media thought they wanted to express their discontent by remaining separate from the coach.
Theo, however, explained after the game that he and Leao didn’t need a cooling break as they had just been introduced from the bench. Likewise, Fonseca insisted that there were no problems with their stars.
Gazzetta adds that Milan owner Gerry Cardinale saw the incident from the stands at the Stadio Olimpico but didn’t talk to the team before or after the game.
Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani had informed the players that Cardinale would be at the Stadium to watch the match.
Theo and Leao will play with their national teams during the international break. The Rossoneri have collected two points in the opening three Serie A games of the season.
