Boss Johannes Hoff Thorup told his Norwich players that every one of them was a candidate for substitution when they trailed 2-0 at half-time during their game at Queens Park Rangers.

Midfielder Kenny McLean revealed the head coach’s scathing indictment and gave his own damning assessment of their performance as the Canaries lost 3-0 and have now gone six away games without a win.

“It’s up there with the worst we’ve had this season,” the Scotland international told BBC Radio Norfolk.

“It’s so disappointing because we can play all the nice football we want at Carrow Road but when we come away and are under a bit of pressure we don’t handle it well enough.

“He said at half-time that anybody could have come off and he was spot on – he could have made as many subs as he wanted and nobody could have said a word, and that’s a poor situation to be in, when no-one is doing their job well enough.”
