Tiger Woods comments on death of former Golfweek/USA Today reporter Steve DiMeglio

Date:

Former Golfweek and USA Today golf reporter Steve DiMeglio had numerous connections in the golf world, but he was proudest of his relationship with Tiger Woods, who he famously followed and chronicled.

When DiMeglio, who died at 63 after a two-year bout with cancer, was first ailing, Woods would check in with him consistently, and even sent him an advance copy of his popular video game.

DiMeglio traveled to a handful of tournaments over the past year, most recently to the Hero World Challenge in December in the Bahamas, which is hosted by Woods. He mentioned on social media that he was thrilled to be able to chat with Woods and caddie Joey LaCava.

On Wednesday, Woods used Twitter to pay homage to his friend.
