NEWARK, N.J. — While the New Jersey Devils are in the midst of their Western Canada road trip, an NFL legend took the ice at their practice facility.
Former NHLer Tie Domi shared videos on his Instagram of himself on the ice at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House with former NFL quarterback Tom Brady.
Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champion, hit the ice for the first time on Friday. By the second day, he was skating without the assistance of the above training aid.
The Hockey News’ Toronto Maple Leafs’ correspondent David Atler spoke to Tie’s son, Max Domi, who shared his thoughts on the now-viral video.
“To see him finally step into our shoes a little bit in our world, it’s pretty spectacular,” Domi said to The Hockey News. “It’s great for the game. I think he has a whole new appreciation for how hard it is just to skate, let alone play in an NHL game. But he’s definitely a fan of it now.”
The Devils will return to New Jersey after they play the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night. I am sure more than a few guys would welcome Brady to join their first practice back at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House.
