Donald Trump asked a question ― and his critics were ready with some answers.
They just probably weren’t the ones the former president was looking for.
Trump on Wednesday tried to make the case for his election at a rally in New York, eventually asking the audience to vote for him because “what the hell do you have to lose?”
It’s an argument he made to Black voters in 2016.
This time, he directed the question to “the people of New York,” a state he has virtually no shot of winning after losing it by more than 20 percentage points in both 2016 and 2020.
Trump’s critics fired back:
What do we have to lose?
Years of progress on climate
The return of high tech manufacturing
Our standing around the globe
The Affordable Care Act
Medicare and Social Security
Our democracyLet’s not find out. https://t.co/vvi72Tfiuy

This BS worked in 2016. We lived through four years of Donald Trump – including the first ever no -peaceful transfer of power. We live it. We’re not turning back. https://t.co/pwQQegaesL

Trump says, “Vote for Donald Trump. What the hell do you have to lose? What do you have to lose?”
Your life, for starters. Trump killed hundreds of thousands of Americans by mismanaging COVID. You could also lose your freedom and democracy, not to mention your job. pic.twitter.com/1th5U9kpte
