Road work will close three of Augusta’s busiest roads next week, the city announced Friday.
Starting Oct. 28, the intersection of 13th and Jones streets will close for about two weeks to install a brick crosswalk. Traffic over the Savannah River bridge from North Augusta will detour at Reynolds Street.
Starting Oct. 29, the stretch of Wylds Road at the railroad tracks, between Augusta Mall and North Leg Road, will be closed for repairs for about a week.
The city tells motorists to expect heavy delays while traveling through this area and to use alternate routes where possible.
