UAB men’s basketball released its full nonconference schedule, which includes nine games at Bartow Arena.
The Blazers open the season at home against reigning American East Conference champion Vermont before games against Southern Miss (Nov. 7) and Southeastern Louisiana (Nov. 10).
A matchup with College Basketball Invitational runner-up High Point will be on Nov. 15 before a home matchup with AUM (Nov. 18) and a trip to the Paradise Jam tournament on the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands; that will run from Nov. 22-25.
UAB will face Longwood in the first round of the tournament on Nov. 22, then face either Illinois State or McNeese State in the next game depending on the first-round result.
The Blazers close out nonconference play with five straight home games, including Middle Tennessee State (Dec. 1), Prairie View A&M (Dec. 6), Arkansas State (Dec. 15), Alabama A&M (Dec. 18) and Alcorn State (Dec. 22).
Last season, the Blazers went 23-12 on the season and 12-6 in American Athletic Conference play, claiming the AAC tournament title with an 85-69 win over Temple.
UAB fell to San Diego State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
