Ugarte starts in 7 big changes | Expected Man Utd line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Leicester City with Amass decision made

Manchester United welcome Leicester City to Old Trafford in the Carabao Cup fourth round tonight.

The Red Devils suffered their fourth defeat of the Premier League season against West Ham United last weekend.

The 2-1 loss paved the way for the departure of manager Erik ten Hag.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has been handed temporary charge and the Dutchman could make several changes to the XI.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted Line-up:

Altay Bayindir has made a solitary start in the Carabao Cup this term. He could get another chance in goal ahead of Andre Onana.

In defence, there could be three changes from the defeat to the Hammers.

Diogo Dalot should continue at right-back for United. We anticipate Jonny Evans to partner Victor Lindelof in the heart of the defence for the Red Devils.

Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez could be given a breather with a view to the Chelsea game.

Noussair Mazraoui picked up a knock at the London Stadium and could also be rested.

Young left-back Harry Amass has made the matchday squad in recent outings. Van Nistelrooy could hand him his senior debut from the starting line-up.

Manuel Ugarte was surprisingly an unused substitute in Ten Hag’s final game in-charge.

The Uruguayan should be reinstated into the XI and could be partnered by Casemiro, who was one of United’s best players against the Hammers.

The duo need to improve their understanding in midfield ahead of Sunday’s league game against Chelsea.

Further forward, we anticipate a couple of changes with Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund making way for Amad Diallo and Joshua Zirkzee.

Rashford had a poor outing on the right wing last weekend and could be benched for Diallo.

Zirkzee’s assist off the bench could get him the nod over Hojlund to lead the club’s attack.

Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes should continue on the left wing and number 10 positions.

Fernandes was very unlucky against West Ham with two big chances squandered by Garnacho and Dalot, but he also missed one scoring opportunity.

The Portuguese needs to pick up his form to turnaround the fortunes of the Mancunian giants.
