The University of Minnesota Duluth women’s basketball team picked up another preseason win on the home court, taking down Bethel University tonight 74-43 at Romano Gymnasium.
The Bulldogs finished off the night shooting 31-62 (50%) from the field, 8-22 (36.4%) from three beyond the arc, and a perfect 4-4 (100%) from the free throw line. UMD put their physicality on display tonight, out rebounding the Royals 45-23 (+22), all while collecting nine blocks and eight steals. Freshman guard Vanessa Bickford led the pack for the Bulldog offense with 16 total points, shooting 6-8 (75%) from the field and 4-6 (66.7%) from three point range and picking up three steals. Junior forward Lexi Karge made her presence known in the paint, collecting a game high 11 rebounds and six blocks.
Bulldog women’s basketball finish off their preseason schedule next Thursday, Oct. 31, taking on the College of St. Scholastica in Romano Gymnasium at 4:00 PM.
