UNC Basketball: Acaden Lewis reveals his ‘Final Four’ teams in his recruitment

Date:

Four teams remain in the recruitment of four-star Class of 2025 guard Acaden Lewis.

The Washington, DC native revealed his list of finalists, one that includes all Blue Blood programs:

North Carolina
UConn
Duke
Kentucky

Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program have made the cut, which should’ve been expected given that Lewis is scheduled to make an official visit to Chapel Hill on October 4. It would’ve been likely that Lewis would’ve cancelled his visit prior to this announcement if the Tar Heels were not in the mix.

Fortunately, they are still very much in it!

The Tar Heels have been working hard to secure some commitments from the Class of 2025, especially at the guard position. With RJ Davis set to exhaust his collegiate eligibility, along with the possibility of losing the likes of Elliot Cadeau and Ian Jackson to the NBA, there could be plenty of playing time available if the UNC basketball program can land a guy like Lewis.

After missing out on five-star Jasper Johnson, the UNC basketball program has been heavily linked to four other guards in this class. While Braylon Mullins is considered more of a shooting guard, the other three are all considered combo guards (a category that fits Lewis well). The other two guards that the Tar Heels have been linked to are Derek Dixon and Isaiah Davis, as there is a chance that North Carolina could bring in more than one of these student-athletes.

Dixon is expected to make his final college decision on September 27, one that could impact the Tar Heels pursuit of Lewis. For now, the Tar Heels are focusing on recruiting their top targets and will let the chips fall into place, as Lewis’ visit to Chapel Hill in a few weeks could help pursuade him to make his way to Chapel Hill.
