While we still are days away from Thanksgiving for this calendar year, we now know where the UNC basketball program will be this time next year.
The Tar Heels announced that they will compete in the Fort Myers Tip-Off in Cypress Lake, Florida. They will compete against Michigan State in a Thanksgiving day contest at Suncoast Credit Union Arena.
Michigan State and North Carolina will anchor the 2025 Fort Myers Tip-Off Beach Division of the event. The remaining two teams, as well as final game dates and matchups, will be announced in the near future.
Two of the most historic programs in all of college basketball, these two programs will compete for the 18th time next fall (barring any potential meetings this season). The two programs last met back in March during the NCAA Tournament, a contest in which the UNC basketball program came out victorious.
North Carolina has had plenty of success against Michigan State, owning a 13-4 edge in the all-time series history. Another meeting between the two programs will occur in a few months, as the UNC basketball program aims to keep their success against the Spartans going.
While there’s plenty of time left in the 2024-2025 season, expect to hear about tidbits of the UNC basketball program’s 2025-2026 schedule over the next couple of months. If you want to watch the Tar Heels next Thanksgiving, keep an eye out for updates on tickets and travel packages for this annual event.
