World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 Points Table, India vs Australia 2nd Test: Australia chased down the target of 19 runs in 3.2 overs without losing any wickets to win the day-night Test and level the series.

WTC (World Test Championship) Points Table, India vs Australia 2nd Test: Australia beat India by 10 wickets in the second Test of the ongoing five-match series played at Adelaide Oval on Sunday (December 8). After taking a 157-run lead in the first innings, Pat Cummins & Co. bowled India out for just 175 runs in the second inning and then chased down the 19-run target in 3.2 overs without losing any wickets.

By getting the better of India inside three days in the pink-ball Test, Australia has moved back to the No. 1 position in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25 points table. The Baggy Greens have 60.71 PCT%. On the other hand, the defeat in the second straight day-night Test against Australia at Adelaide has dropped India to the No. 3 position. The Rohit Sharma-led side has 57.29 PCT%.

South Africa sits at the No. 2 position with 59.26 PCT%. South Africa will replace Australia from the top position if they beat Sri Lanka in the ongoing second Test at St. George’s Park in Gqeberha.

2021 champions New Zealand has dropped to the No. 6 position in the WTC 2023-25 points table after losing the second Test against England. England beat the Kiwis by 323 runs on Sunday to win the second Test played between the two teams at Basin Reserve in Wellington.

5-wicket haul for Cummins

Australian captain Pat Cummins finished with figures of 5 for 57 runs in the second innings. After accounting for the dismissals of KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma on Day 2, Cummins removed Ravichandran Ashwin (7), Harshit Rana (0), and Nitish Kumar Reddy (42) in the first session of Day 3. While Ashwin was caught behind by wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey, Rana was caught by Usman Khawaja, and Nathan McSweeney completed Reddy’s catch.

Apart from the Aussie skipper, left-arm pacer Mitchell Starc also picked up one wicket on Sunday, and India’s No. 11 batter, Mohammed Siraj, was sent back to the pavilion by Scott Boland.

Like in the first innings, Nitish finished as the leading run scorer for India in the second innings as well. During his stay at the crease, the 21-year-old cricketer from Andhra faced 47 balls and hammered six fours and one six.
