Date:

In a highly anticipated return match at the Cappanelle Cricket Grounds in Rome, the Vatican Cricket Team (Athletica Vaticana) secured a convincing 7-wicket victory against the England Seniors.

Earlier this summer, the Vatican Team had traveled to England, where they were hosted by the same opponents, making this fixture a special rematch under challenging weather conditions.

The England Seniors batted first under a cloudy sky and difficult outfield conditions, managing to post a total of 66 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. The Vatican bowling attack was disciplined and with the help from an evenly energetic fielding, kept the English batsmen under pressure throughout their innings.

In response, the Vatican Cricket Team chased down the target in 14.3 overs, scoring 67 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Bro. Jaise cst played a crucial role in guiding the team to victory with a stellar batting performance, earning him the Man of the Match award.

Despite the challenging weather, the match was played in great spirits, showcasing the camaraderie and sportsmanship between the two teams.
