‘Very Concrete Chance’ – Fabrizio Romano Provides Key Update on Liverpool Star’s Extension Amid PSG Links

Date:

Paris Saint-Germain are focusing on young talent but the capital club will also have to pair these players with veterans to show them the ropes and pass on knowledge that helps them the rest of their career.

As a result, it makes sense why the Parisians are reportedly interested in Liverpool standout Mohamed Salah. The 32-year-old’s contract expires in 2025 and so if PSG does want to pursue the player, all they would need to worry about are his wages.

Furthermore, it could push OusmaneDembélé to that No. 10 role he has played under manager Luis Enrique. Still, this could also be a ploy from Salah’s camp to get a better extension from Liverpool.

The latest information on Salah comes from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. On the newest episode of CaughtOffside’s The Debrief podcast, Romano revealed that the superstar could leave Anfield in 2025, but there will be discussions over a new deal.

“I think there is still a very concrete chance to see Mo Salah leaving, but what I’m sure about is that there will be conversations,” Romano said. “There will be negotiations with Liverpool so it’s not over between Liverpool and Salah. The situation is still very much open. So again, there is a possibility to leave for sure, but it’s not guaranteed.

“There will be negotiations. There will be conversations. Mo Salah is open to negotiating and discussing with Liverpool. It’s about the length of the contract and the project they have at the club. Obviously, money is also an important factor for the final big contract in the career as a football player for Mo Salah.

“There will be conversations and it will happen quite soon. In the next months, there will be conversations with Mo Salah and with his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, as they will discuss a potential new deal for Mo and they will decide all together. I think it’s going to be a club and player decision.

“They will consider all the factors involved, but from what I’m told is that as of today, it’s not over between Salah and Liverpool. There is a chance to part ways at the end of the season, but there will be conversations, there will be negotiations. So let’s see how it goes.”
