The location of the video was verified by the stadium wall, nearby buildings, tree, and road layout which matched file and satellite imagery of the area. Reuters was able to verify the date of the video from a statement released by Prime Minister Mamadou Oury Bah and local media reports.
Other videos and pictures shared online showed victims lined up on the ground. In one video, over a dozen inert bodies could be counted and several of them were children. Reuters has not authenticated the videos.
