Vote now: Who is Seacoast Preseason Girls Basketball Player of the Year?

We are a few weeks away from the 2024 high school girls basketball season in Seacoast New Hampshire and southern Maine. Players and teams are poised to showcase their talents.

One player from each of the 13 Seacoast-area high schools has been nominated by their coaches for Seacoast Preseason Girls Basketball Player of the Year, presented by York County Community College as part of the Athletes of the Week program.

From scoring, to rebounding, playing defense and setting up teammates, these players can do it all.

Who are the nominees?

The nominees are Nya Avery, a junior at York High School; Ari Bennett, a junior at Winnacunnet High School; Genna Bolduc, a senior at St. Thomas Aquinas High School; Aleiana Booker, a senior at Traip Academy; Ava Buchanan, a junior at Portsmouth Christian Academy; Cayla Gonzalez, a sophomore at Somersworth High School,; Jillian Long a senior at Newmarket High School; Lilly Nossif, a senior at Dover High School; Vivian O’Quinn, a senior at Oyster River High School; Syd Pettis, a senior at Portsmouth High School; Karli Scherpf, a senior at Exeter High School; Sarah Theriault, a senior at Marshwood High School and Meagan Uraskevich, a junior at Spaulding High School.

Voting can be completed through the ballot below. Voting closes midnight Sunday, Dec. 1.

How do we learn who wins?

The winner will be announced in a story published Monday, Dec. 2 at seacoastonline.com/sports and fosters.com/sports.
