It’s time to take a look at the standout high school performers from Summit County for last week.

Your vote will determine who will be the Summit County High School Athlete of the Week for Sept. 23-29. We will pick one girl and one boy. Each athlete’s credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 5 p.m. Thursday. The winners will be announced Friday morning on BeaconJournal.com.

Here’s a look at the girls nominees, in alphabetical order:

Marissa Boone, Woodridge cross country

Despite a fall during the race, placed third individually to lead the host Bulldogs to a third-place finish as a team at the 39th Woodridge CVNP Cross Country Invitational.

Emmy Burling, Hudson golf

Placed second in Suburban League National Conference tournament with a 70 at Brookledge Golf Course.

Danzi Jones, Stow cross country

Placed first at the “U Wanna Come Back” Invitational at Madison High School in 18:21 — the third-fastest time in school history.

Katarina Jovanovic, Norton tennis

Won the first singles championship at the Metro Athletic Conference tournament.

Makayla Martuccio, Tallmadge cross country

Won the Blue Division of the Gilmour Academy Paul Primeau Invitational in 18:59.4.

Here’s a look at the boys nominees, in alphabetical order:

Ben Fauver, Hudson golf

Shot a 71 to earn medalist honors and lead the Explorers to a first-place National Conference finish at the Suburban League Tournament at Good Park Golf Course.

Ian Katz, Hudson soccer

Scored the only goal in 1-0 win over Division II state runner-up Revere, and scored two goals in an 8-0 win over Nordonia. Leads team with 14 goals.

Silas Kirkpatrick, Green golf

Shot a 72 to win the medalist honor in a Division I boys golf sectional tournament at Tannenhauf Golf Club.

Marco Silva, Barberton golf

Tied for second as an individual in the American Conference with a round of 73 at the Suburban League Tournament.

Marty Tobin, Walsh Jesuit football

Ran 30 times for 201 yards in the unbeaten Warriors’ 20-12 win over Benedictine.
