A shooting incident reported from Washington DC on Sunday, as per reports, left four people injured. Following the gunfire exchange near Boone Elementary School, a first responder reportedly crashed en route to the crime scene. Meanwhile, the Police in Southeast DC launched an investigation into the incident.
The four people who sustained injuries in Southeast on Sunday evening were later transported to a local hospital. According to WTOP News, the officer of the DC Police responded to the shooting shortly after 6:00 pm, per local time. The incident took place on the 2200 block of Minnesota Avenue, the cops told the outlet.
The first responders found two men lying on the scene with gunshot wounds upon their arrival. The Police Department confirmed to the local press that both were conscious and breathing at the time. However, the victims’ current status is not known.
Additionally, one adult male and a juvenile female were also later located receiving treatment at local area medical facilities. The motive behind the shooting earlier today is yet to be determined. Moreover, the cops further told the outlet that an officer responding to the shooting was involved in a crash.
The official, who met with an accident, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was received treatment. There is limited information about the suspect(s) in the case as no arrest(s) has/have been made so far. Police are encouraging the members of the community to come forward and share the information about a dark-colored Hyundai, that was spotted near the scene.
