We’ve covered a lot of police chases before, including pursuits where the suspect gets away. People have a lot of thoughts about that sort of thing, with some believing all the cops need to do is run the license plate, then wait for the suspect at his house. It sure would be great if that always worked, but sometimes police have to go looking for the car and run it off the road, like in this dashcam footage out of Georgia.
Jaguar has veered in a strange direction.
Despite what some commenters seem to believe, not everyone is honest. That’s especially true when it comes to people who run from police, which really shouldn’t be shocking. A lot of them don’t have plates on their car or if they do, the plates are stolen or fake.
That means cops can’t just look the owner up, then arrest that person at their house. And that’s why sometimes law enforcement has to physically stop these suspects, who often are involved in far worse crimes.
In this case, the suspect ran from Bulloch County deputies before and got away, at least for a bit. After that incident, deputies as well as Georgia State Patrol were on the lookout for the suspect vehicle, finally spotting it, sparking the pursuit in the video.
Once again fleeing a traffic stop, this suspect seems to know the roads in the area quite well, indicating he’s likely lived there a long time, perhaps all his life. And we wonder if he’s run from cops more than a few times because he seems to know how to really put distance between him and his pursuers in a hurry, running lights, going into oncoming traffic, etc.
Obviously, deputies and troopers were ready for a fight this time around, swarming the area. Their numbers helped limit options for the suspect and eventually he was pitted out into a field. This case just proves that even if you outrun police, they could still catch up later and the consequences become more severe.
