On Day 4 of the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Pakistan’s hope took a severe hit as Mohammad Rizwan, one of their key batsmen, was dismissed in the 37th over.

The incident occurred during the Pakistan’s second innings when Hasan Mahmud delivered a crucial blow, removing Rizwan on the fifth delivery of the over. The ball pitched on a good length, just outside the off stump, and shaped away from the batter.

Rizwan, in an attempt to chase the wide delivery, got a thick outside edge, which was comfortably caught by the wicket-keeper Litton Das behind the stumps.

After removing Rizwan, Hasan was seen pumped while Bangladesh erupted in celebration. They had just claimed the big fish—Pakistan was now seven wickets down.

The match saw Bangladesh’s bowling attack take control, rattling the Pakistani batting order. Nahid Rana was the star of the show, as he dismissed Pakistan’s skipper, Shan Masood, with a stunning delivery.

Rana didn’t stop there; he also sent Babar Azam back to the pavilion after the Pakistani captain managed only 11 runs off 18 balls. Pakistan’s premier Test batter followed shortly, departing for a mere 2 runs. With each dismissal, Bangladesh tightened their grip on the match, leaving Pakistan struggling to set a challenging target for the visitors.

Bangladesh’s Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz Shine

Earlier in the match, on Day 3, Bangladesh had found themselves in deep trouble, reduced to 26/6 by Pakistan’s bowlers. However, a brilliant partnership between Litton Das and Mehidy Hasan Miraz turned the game around.

Das’s magnificent 138-run knock, combined with Miraz’s 78, helped Bangladesh reach a respectable total of 262. This partnership not only salvaged Bangladesh’s innings but also set the stage for their bowlers to dominate the match.

As the match progresses, Bangladesh are just one wicket away from restricting the hosts to a below-par score.
