‘We were eager to get one back’… Pedri shares his thoughts after Barcelona beats Bayern Munich

FC Barcelona passed their first big test of this season with flying colors as they beat the German giants Bayern Munich at home with a 4-1 scoreline. The Brazilian winger Raphinha scored a hat-trick and was the standout player for the Blaugranes in this game.

However, the whole of the team put in a very impressive shift, which helped the club get over one of its fiercer rivals in the last few years.

Pedri, who has seen his team suffer against the Bavarians several times in the past, put in a strong performance against them, and was essential in keeping his team calm after the visitors had gotten their equaliser and were looking to get a lead over the Catalans.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spanish midfielder spoke to the media after the game, and expressed his happiness in beating such a strong adversary:

“It was an opponent we hadn’t beaten in a long time, and against whom we’d had some tough losses. As a Barça fan myself, it hits your pride, and honestly, we were eager to get one back. And what better way to do it than here, with our fans, who are the ones that deserve it the most.”

The Canarian is now looking forward to the upcoming El Clasico with a lot of excitement:

“We know we have a lot of potential in the team, and we wanted to make a statement. You don’t need much extra motivation for a Clásico because you’re already fired up, but this victory gives you a lot of confidence going into El Clásico. We’re going all out at the Bernabéu.”

The midfielder also recognized that he is going through one of his best veins of the form:

“I’m in one of my best moments. It’s been a long time since I felt this good physically, and now I’m managing to maintain this consistency. I’ve found something that’s working really well for me, and honestly, I’m enjoying playing for Barça, which has been my dream since I was a kid.”

There is no doubt that Pedri is currently one of the most important players in this Barcelona team. Hopefully, he will be able to put in performances like these for the rest of the season as well, which will be essential if the Catalans are to end this campaign with a trophy.
