West Ham’s Long-Term Admiration for PSG Loanee Comes to Fruition with Official Transfer

Date:

Carlos Soler finalized his move to West Ham United on Friday, giving the 27-year-old a fresh start with the Premier League club. According to a club official, the Hammers had been working on this transfer for some time.

On Friday, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that Soler is set to join a Premier League club on loan, with an option to buy included in the deal with PSG. Additionally, West Ham will cover his salary as part of the arrangement.

Once the transfer became official, West Ham United Technical Director Tim Steidten expressed his thrill at completing a deal with Paris Saint-Germain to ensure Soler joined the English side.

“We’re delighted to welcome Carlos to West Ham United,” Steidten told the club’s official website. “We’ve admired him for some time, and whilst we’ve had to wait until the final day of the summer transfer window to secure his services, we’re really pleased to have him on board for the remainder of the season.

“He’s a really talented player, who will add undoubted quality to our midfield department. His ability on the ball is unquestionable and we’re excited about seeing him in a West Ham shirt.”

Soler might be smart to leave PSG as he aims to grab the attention of Spain’s manager, Luis de la Fuente, ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In the 2023-24 season, Soler played 26 games for the Parisians, scoring once and delivering four assists.
