Syracuse is keeping fans on the edge of their seats so far during the 2024-25 college basketball season, following yet another narrow win over Colgate in their second game of the year. The 74-72 win saw the Raiders surge back from what was at one point a 13-point deficit, but ultimately Eddie Lampkin Jr. secured a late, go-ahead basket in the final minute of play to take the victory.
Syracuse has emerged this season with clear defensive weaknesses, that head coach Adrian Autry will need to address both against Youngstown this week, and looking ahead to the Orange’s game at Barclays Center next Thursday.
Youngstown State, like Syracuse, is a new-look team for the 2024-25 season. Head coach Ethan Faulkner is in his first season in charge, with transfers including Nico Galette from Sacred Heart and Ty Harper taking charge on the court. They are 1-1 so far this season, coming off an 81-47 thrashing by Ohio State.
