What Trent Alexander-Arnold has been asking Jude Bellingham amid contract negotiations

Trent Alexander-Arnold is yet to sign a new Liverpool contract and has been speaking with Jude Bellingham amid negotiations about his life in Madrid.

The Liverpool star has been one of Liverpool’s best players over the last few years, however is currently set to be available on a free transfer in the summer. Real Madrid is viewed as the most likely destination, with the right back able to sign a pre-contract with non-English clubs as early as January.

Trent and Jude’s friendship

However whilst contract talks are ongoing, Trent has been “constantly talking” to Bellingham about Madrid according to a report from The Independent.

The two have become close friends over recent years, with the pair going on holiday in Los Angeles together over the summer.

The friendship has developed from their time with the English national team, where they spent the Euros together, during which they debuted a new celebration when Bellingham scored in the opener against Serbia.

The scouser did little to quash rumours either when he was pictured alongside Real Madrid duo Kylian Mbappe and Aurélien Tchouaméni, and was videoed signing a Real Madrid shirt for a young fan.

Alexander-Arnold is currently assessing how the post-Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield progresses before making a commitment according to the report.

Liverpool’s contract situation

Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes reportedly views an extension for the Scouser as a priority, however the lack of movement so far has left some fans concerned their hero may leave.

Despite a poor result against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, Trent has been a key figure in an impressive start for Liverpool in their opening three games, and fans will be hoping that the 3-0 win at Old Trafford went some way to convincing him of Arne Slot’s managerial capabilities.

Alexander-Arnold is not the only player whose contract is set to expire. Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are both currently going to leave Liverpool at the same time as the Englishman, with their contracts also at an end.
