Where to watch India vs. Australia: Free live stream, channel, start time for ICC Champions Semis | Sporting News

Date:

India, led by Rohit Sharma, will take on Australia in a high-stakes semi-final of the Champions Trophy match on Tuesday.

India will head into this match after beating New Zealand by 44 runs on Sunday. Shreyas Iyer (79) and Varun Chakravarthy (5 for 42) stole the show with their brilliant performance in that match.

With this win, they not only topped the Group A table but also continued their unbeaten streak in the tournament. They first beat Bangladesh in their opening match, then Pakistan in the second, and New Zealand in the last league match.

On the other side, Australia is coming off after their last league match was a washout against Afghanistan. Steve Smith’s side has shared their points against South Africa and Afghanistan in a rain washout match; with four points in three matches, they became the second team to qualify for the semi-final match. They will now take on unbeaten Champions Trophy contenders India in Dubai.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch the match, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

India vs. Australia team news

The rumors of Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami missing the last match against New Zealand were not true, as both played and featured in that match. However, the Indian team made one change for this match; they brought in Varun Chakravarthy in the place of Harshit Rana.

Mohammed Shami, who has gone wicketless in the last two matches against New Zealand and Pakistan, is likely to get replaced by Harshit Rana in the semi-final, and Varun will continue to be the second regular spinner in the team after Kuldeep Yadav.

Shreyas Iyer is in brilliant form in this tournament, as is Axar Patel; both will be taking up the middle-order duties against Australia.

If Shami misses the semi-final match against Australia, then Hardik Pandya will pair up with Rana to be his other pace bowler. The rest of the team is unlikely to get changed.

India predicted XI: Rohit (c), Gill, Virat, Iyer, Rahul (wk), Varun, Axar, Jadeja, Hardik, Harshit, Kuldeep.

Australia has been dealt big disappointing news as their star opener and all-rounder Matthew Short has been ruled out due to a calf injury. Short, who felt some discomfort in the last match against Afghanistan, was ruled out on Sunday. Cooper Connolly has been added to the squad as his replacement. Connolly has been traveling with the team as a reserve and is finally set to get his opportunity in this tournament. If Connolly is added to the starting XI, then Josh Inglis is likely to slot in as the opener.

Travis Head, who scored a fifty against Afghanistan, is eagerly waiting for India in the semi-final. His love affair with Team India is something that would be posing only threat in this match. Steve Smith will continue to lead the side, and Marnus LabuschagneAlex Carey, and Glenn Maxwell will be seen taking the middle-order responsibilities. They also have Aaron Hardie as another all-rounder, waiting for his opportunity.

Spencer Johnson has been brilliantly spearheading the pace bowling along with Ben Dwarshuis; unlikely they will change the bowling attack for this match.

Australia predicted XI: Head, Smith (c), Inglis (wk), Labuschagne, Carey, Maxwell, Connolly, Dwarshuis, Ellis, Zampa, Johnson.
