Paris Saint-Germain’s decision to bring in Randal Kolo Muani initially looked promising, as they added a talented French player in his prime. However, the move hasn’t panned out as hoped, and now the club might be considering moving on.
Kolo Muani has been with PSG for over a year but has only managed 11 goals and six assists during that period. It also seems that Luis Enrique’s faith in him may have faded.
Instead of relying on Kolo Muani, Enrique has opted to use a false No. 9, even with Gonçalo Ramos out due to injury. Ramos’ absence seemed like the perfect chance for Kolo Muani to step up and secure a starting spot, but that opportunity hasn’t materialized.
Amid the rumors, CBS Sports’ Jonathan Johnson weighed in on the rumors linking the Frenchman to Arsenal and Manchester United and noted whether he sees the forward heading to the Premier League should his situation with the Parisians stint not continue to go as planned.
“I do think that Kolo Muani to the Premier League does make sense in some ways,” Johnson said on the latest PSG Talking podcast. “I think he’s got that skill set, he’s got that physical edge, an ability to be very direct. That means quite often the players with similar skill sets have success in the Premier League.
“I don’t know if he’s got the clinical edge in front of goal that would be needed to to really be worthwhile for somebody like a United. But then again, when you look at the way that he’s performed in the most recent international break with a little bit of faith from Didier Deschamps, he clearly has something to offer.”
