Winnipeg to open two new cricket pitches this spring in response to city’s growth – Turf & Rec

Date:

Two new cricket pitches are expected to be up and running in Winnipeg in the spring.

A youth pitch at Chancellor Park and an adult pitch at Bridgwater Lakes Park are featuring artificial turf and other improvements.

CTV News reports the facilities are part of a $100-million plan to provide more recreational space as the city continues to grow. Immigration has been attributed to the growth of cricket.

Funding for the pitches has come from all three levels of government.
