The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued an “at-large” warrant for Otiseia McMorris, 34, of St. Louis County, on Oct. 1. She was taken into custody on Friday.

According to a probable cause statement obtained by FOX 2, McMorris was heading westbound on Highway 67 and traveling at speeds over 100 miles per hour just three seconds before the crash.

Marian Harris-Dukes, 63, died in the crash. Her seven-year-old grandson suffered an umbilical hernia, a concussion and pulmonary contusions. A victim in a different car suffered sprain and strain injuries, along with a cervical spine.

Investigators later reviewed vehicle EDR data, which revealed that McMorris’ vehicle was traveling more than 100 miles per hour on a roadway with a speed limit of 45 miles per hour. The investigation also determined that McMorris was driving without insurance and previously had another “no insurance” case pending in St. Louis County.

McMorris was booked into jail in St. Louis County on a $50,000 cash-only bond. In a follow-up interview with police, McMorris reportedly claimed she was not traveling above the speed limit, according to the probable cause statement.

The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons detectives are handling the investigation into the crash.
