DAYTON – The Wright State women’s basketball program released its 2024-25 non-conference schedule on Thursday afternoon. The slate is made up of four games at home, three on the road, and three at matchups in a multi-team exempt event (MTE).
The Raiders will tip off the regular season on the road, traveling to Madison, Wisconsin to take on the University of Wisconsin on November 5. This will be the first meeting between Wright State and the Badgers. Wright State will stay on the road to play the University of Evansville (November 10), this being their first matchup since 2008.
Wright State will return for the 2024-25 home opener November 12, hosting Indiana State for their first meeting in close to 20 years. The Raiders will stay in the Nutter Center as Tennessee State travels to Dayton for their third all-time series matchup.
The Raiders will be on the road once more in November, taking on Bellarmine (November 21) for the first time since both school’s move to NCAA Division I sports, before returning home for two more home matchups. The Raiders will host Ohio University November 24 and Findlay November 26. This will be WSU’s 14th time seeing Ohio, last playing in 2010, and their first matchup against Findlay.
The Raiders conclude their non-conference schedule with three-games in the GCU Classic, opening the multi-team exempt event on December 18, playing through December 21.

University of Wisconsin (Nov. 5, Madison, WI)
The Badgers went 15-17 last season, finishing tenth in the Big 10 with a 6-12 conference record. After falling to Penn State in the second round of the Big 10 tournament, Wisconsin went on to compete in the WNIT, taking down Southern Indiana and Illinois State before falling to Saint Louis University in the quarterfinals. This will be the first meeting between Wright State and the Badgers.
University of Evansville (Nov. 10, Evansville, IN)
Evansville finished last season 4-28 overall and 2-18 in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Purple Aces hold a close 5-4 all-time series record over Wright State, with meetings dating back to the 1982-83 season. The two last faced each other in 2008, where Evansville won 63-59.
Indiana State (Nov. 12, Nutter Center)
Indiana State went 11-21 in the 2023-24 season, going 6-14 in the Missouri Valley Conference. This will be the tenth meeting between Wright State and the Sycamores, as the Raiders hold the all-time series record 6-3. The series dates back to 1987, last seeing each other in the 2023-24 season after a nearly 20-year hiatus. In this meeting, the Raiders came out on top 72-63.
Tennessee State (Nov. 15, Nutter Center)
The Tigers finished last season with an 11-19 overall record, going 7-11 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Tennessee State entered the OVC Tournament as the eighth seed, taking Morehead State in the first round before falling to No. 4 Eastern Illinois in the quarterfinals. This will be the first time WSU has seen the Tigers in two decades, last playing each other in the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. In these two meetings, Wright State came out victorious 84-68 and 79-37, respectively.
Bellarmine (Nov. 21, Louisville, KY)
Bellarmine ended their 2023-24 campaign 10-19 overall, going 5-11 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. The Knights entered the ASUN Tournament as the 10th seed, falling to Jacksonville University in the first round. Wright State has not seen Bellarmine since both transitioned into NCAA Division I athletics, last facing each other in the 1986-87 NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional Tournament. Bellarmine holds the all-time series 6-5.
Ohio University (Nov. 24, Nutter Center)
Ohio University finished last season going 11-19 overall and 8-10 in the Mid-American Conference. Entering the MAC Tournament as the seventh seed, the Bobcats fell to No. 2 Ball State in the quarterfinals. OU holds the all-time series record over WSU 9-4, with their last meeting being in the 2010-11 season, where the Raiders won 70-57. The Bobcats have not been entirely distant from WSU, as former Wright State women’s basketball standout Chelsea Welch has been on the sidelines for OU since the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach.
Findlay (Nov. 26, Nutter Center)
The NCAA Division II Findlay ended the 2023-24 season with a 14-15 overall record, going 10-10 in the Great Midwest Atlantic Conference. The Oilers entered the GMAC Tournament as the No. 9 seed, falling to No. 1 Ashland. This will be Wright State’s first meeting with Findlay.
GCU Classic (Dec. 18-21, Phoenix, AZ)
The Raiders will be competing in an MTE at Grand Canyon University. Last season, Wright State traveled to Nevada to play in the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Tournament, taking on Wyoming and Presbyterian.
