COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri women’s basketball defeated Truman State 112-62 in a preseason exhibition contest at Mizzou Arena on Tuesday night.
The 50-point win is Missouri’s largest exhibition win since Nov. 4, 2021, a 55-point victory over Southwest Baptist while the Tigers’ 112 points are their most in an exhibition since Oct. 29, 2019 when Missouri scored 121 against Fontbonne.
Sophomore guard Grace Slaughter led the way for the Tigers with 17 points along with four rebounds and an assist.
Junior guard Ashton Judd complemented the offense with 16 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting performance from the field. Judd connected on both of her three-point attempts in the game while collecting eight rebounds and two assists.
Graduate forward Angelique Ngalakulondi added 13 points also on a spotless 6-for-6 shooting performance. Ngalakulondi also recorded five rebounds and a pair of blocks.
With Ngalakulondi’s total, Missouri received 57 points from players who returned from injury or were not on the roster a season ago.
Slaughter opened up an early 7-0 lead for the Tigers, scoring all seven points at a perfect 3-of-3 clip. The Tigers continued their strong start to a 26-8 advantage late in the first quarter, powered by Slaughter’s quarter-leading 10 points.
Angelique Ngalakulondi closed the quarter with a putback as she finished with six points and three rebounds in the opening frame and gave Mizzou a 34-16 lead.
Missouri maintained their lead as the two teams exchanged baskets before the Tigers broke off a 14-8 run to close out the first half. Sophomore forward Hilke Feldrappe contributed six points during the scoring run.
Ashton Judd led the offense with seven points in the frame as the junior connected on all three field goal attempts and hauled in four rebounds.
Mizzou’s 60 points at the half marked the most in any exhibition game in the Pingeton era.
Early in the third quarter, the Tigers extended the lead to 75-40 thanks to a 12-3 spurt. The run was led by Ngalakulondi’s presence on both ends of the court as she scored seven points in the charge, grabbed two rebounds and rejected a pair of Bulldog shot attempts.
Ngalakulondi punctuated the offensive charge with a blocked shot that turned into a fast-break layup for the graduate at the other end.
The Bulldogs scored eight straight points out of a timeout to cut the Missouri lead down to 75-48.
Missouri responded with a 7-0 run of its own to close the frame as Slaughter made layups on consecutive trips down the court and graduate guard De’Myla Brown nailed a buzzer-beating three-point shot to put the Tigers ahead 82-48.
Missouri carried the momentum into the closing quarter and closed the contest with a 10-0 spurt giving the program its largest exhibition win since Nov. 4, 2021, a 90-35 triumph over Southwest Baptist.
The Tigers forced 22 turnovers with 11 steals and scored 68 of their points in the paint.

Missouri will open the 2024-25 season at 5 p.m. on Monday at Vermont. The Tigers will face Southern in its home opener at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 7. The games will be broadcast on ESPN+ and SECN+, respectively.
