World Travel Awards: 27 South African establishments awarded with leading titles

The 31st annual World Travel Awards hosted its Africa ceremony in Kenya on 18 October.

Global figureheads in tourism gathered at Diamonds Leisure Beach & Golf Resort at Diani Beach in Kenya for the gala ceremony, where several African travel organisations pushing the boundaries of excellence and innovation were recognised for their efforts.

Big winners at the reception included Tanzania, which claimed double honours for ‘Africa’s Leading Destination’ and ‘Africa’s Leading Tourist Board’. Its iconic Serengeti National Park was named ‘Africa’s Leading National Park’, with Mount Kilimanjaro taking the title of ‘Africa’s Leading Tourist Attraction’.

A total of 27 South African travel organisations and establishments were awarded leading titles. See the full list below:

  9. South Africa’s Leading Hotel 2024: The Houghton Hotel

The World Travel Awards has revealed that its Grand Final 2024 will take place in the Atlantic islands of Madeira on 24 November 2024.
