Argentina football fans are passionate, no doubt. But what was on display from River Plate supporters was something else on Tuesday.
Fans welcomed their team with fireworks galore and deafening cheers of support as the players walked onto the Estadio Mâs Monumental for the second leg of the Copa Libertadores semi-final.
The spectacle lasted over 10 minutes as the stadium was illuminated with red flares.
River Plate have their eyes set on a spot in the final but must overcome a 3-0 deficit against Brazilian side Atlético Mineiro to do so.
