🎥 Throwback to when big money Enzo Fernández bagged his first Chelsea goal

Big money transfer deals will always be the focus of heavy scrutiny, and perhaps no one knows that more than Chelsea and Argentina star Enzo Fernández.

After completing a then British record £106.8m move to Stamford Bridge from Benfica in the wake of a highly successful 2022 World Cup campaign, Fernández was expectedly thrust into the spotlight in the English capital.

Hardly known for having a penchant for regularly being among the goals, it would take the Buenos Aires-born midfielder almost a year to open his Premier League account.

After a Blues corner against visiting Brighton found its way to Benoît Badiashile, the French centre back ultimately played a ball back into the centre of the box for Fernández to head home past Seagulls keeper Jason Steele to put Chelsea ahead 1-0.

He would go on to later complete his brace in the second half when he calmly dispatched his effort from the penalty spot, accounting for two of his three goals last season.

Now under new manager Enzo Maresca, Fernández is back at his best and looking more and more like the man the Blues shelled out a king’s ransom for.
